What is it with the sudden influx of homophobes onto LJ? Fermatojam, and Killiganhashope, and now epicyclical reports an exchange of e-mails with one who apparently managed not to know that Ian McKellen is gay. Doesn't everybody know that?

It has been brought to my attention that I didn't phrase the above paragraph very well. It wasn't the not knowing that made Cassie's e-mailer a homophobe. It was more her reaction to Cassie's suggestion that he is gay. Click on the link to her journal and all will become clear.

No, but this girl was insisting that he wasn't, until Cassie presented her with irrefutable evidence. Not knowing is one thing. Refusing to accept it is quite another.

Basically Billeh looked shocked and Dom was amused yet stunned, and both were trying to disguise what they were really feeling. Dom said something like 'I don't remember filming that scene'. *G*

*chuckles* I first realised Sir Ian was gay when I was watching the DVD commentary and he started going on about how he tricked Sean Astin into holding hands with Elijah Wood for the Rivendell scene (well, not TRICKED exactly, but he sounded all sneaky when he was saying it, y'know, "and they thought it was just innocent hobbit friendship, but I knew better! *insert Evil!Gandalf laugh here*" Yes, I have embellished what actually happened just a little)

i bought 'gods and monsters' back in high school and used to watch it for to see the glory of the mckellen.

i am going to BE that fabulous old fairy someday. you will see me and say 'golly, check out that fabulous old fairy. just like ian mckellen!'
