What is it with the sudden influx of homophobes onto LJ? Fermatojam, and Killiganhashope, and now epicyclical reports an exchange of e-mails with one who apparently managed not to know that Ian McKellen is gay. Doesn't everybody know that?

It has been brought to my attention that I didn't phrase the above paragraph very well. It wasn't the not knowing that made Cassie's e-mailer a homophobe. It was more her reaction to Cassie's suggestion that he is gay. Click on the link to her journal and all will become clear.

No, but this girl was insisting that he wasn't, until Cassie presented her with irrefutable evidence. Not knowing is one thing. Refusing to accept it is quite another.
