avarielwings: (poor lonely hollom)
I am not quite sure what to make of the fact that I've seen more mentions by far on my flist of the gay rights meme - both passing it on and criticising it - than of the murder of five young Amish girls in Pennsylvania, with several more girls still in intensive care.

Just sayin'.

ETA: I wasn't saying the one being mentioned a lot was why the other isn't, at all. I'm aware that they're unrelated issues. I could just as easily have said "the fact that I've seen almost no mention of the murder..." and maybe I should have.

And I'm not trying to condemn anyone. Just wondering, because I genuinely didn't understand why the second had barely been mentioned at all. And people have explained their viewpoints on it, so now I understand better.

My job is currently ver' ver' quiet, while the doctor I work for gets back into things after his holiday.

I typed three letters this morning, followed by photocopying, mailing and filing one. And now I have nothing to do.

So I sit and play around on LJ because no one can see my screen.

My co-worker's chair squeaks. It sounds disconcertingly like a crying baby.

Yes, you all needed to know that.

Will someone please explain to me how Fred Phelps and his so-called church can plan to protest at the funerals of murdered little girls just because a governor he doesn't like is going to be there? And not only that, but say that those children "brought the wrath on themselves"?

That man does not deserve membership in the human race.

And while I remember. The Amish serve themselves, do they, Mr. Phelps? So how come they've set up a fund to help the family of the man who killed five of their children?
