It was his first ever helicopter ride, and Orlando was entranced. He was already imagining what it would be like to bungee-jump out, and wondering if he could persuade the pilot - and Astin - to let him.
His thoughts were dragged away from the imaginary headrush, and his eyes from the window, by a hand fumbling for his own and squeezing it, hard enough to hurt. His intended protest died when he saw Bean's face.
Carefully, Orlando loosened Bean's grip so it wasn't quite so painful, and murmured comfort, thoughts of bungee-jumping forgotten.
Some things were more important.
