Estel was seven years old, and he had convinced his foster brothers to take him on his first summer hunting trip. Elladan and Elrohir were both a lot older than him (being elves, they were a *lot* older than him) but they had always made time for their little brother.
The three of them had gone out into the woods around Rivendell to look for rabbits. The twins knew perfectly well that the child was making enough noise to scare away every rabbit for miles, but they chose not to tell him that.
Estel returned to Imladris with no rabbits, but happy.
