Kurt thinks God must have sent Storm to guide his path.
After all, his first act after leaving the White House was to pray for guidance. And although he tried to frighten her and Jean away when they found him, he has come to believe that the manner of their arrival was a test. And he passed, since he took what they had to offer him.
His God provides, although Kurt is a miserable sinner. He has shown that time and again, and this time, He has arranged for Kurt to be among his own kind.
Storm is his salvation.
