*has just finished reading Fast Food Nation*

*is never eating in McDonalds again. Ever. Or Burger King*

*in fact, may just lay off meat altogether*

Hmm. I seem to be the only person who read that book who didn't have that reaction. I felt torn, because on one hand his endless descriptions of how delicious french fries and chicken nuggets and other junk like that made me hungry for them, but at the same time the descriptions of what the corporations did to their workers and the land just beyond sickened me. I also felt depressed, because it seemed as if the environmental and human damages were so huge that there's really nothing I can do.

The only thing we really can do is what he suggests in the last chapter - protest in large numbers. If McDonalds feels that their policy is endangering their profits, they will change it, they've shown that in the past.
