Captain Bean was on the hunt for smugglers. His particular targets this time were the notorious Boyd and Monaghan, who were known to be bringing in brandy.
He knew the ways they used to evade his guards, and he'd stationed men at the exits of every cave system. This time, he'd get them both, and they were going to the gibbet.
Seven hours later, Bean cursed in frustration. Someone must have tipped them off. But who?
Had he but known it, Liv, the girl he'd bought the previous night, and boasted to about his imminent success, was Dominic Monaghan's cousin.
